RayWhat's special?
by Alex Blackmore

Ray arrived at Church on his own and I went to greet him - what's special about that?

Ray had been a faithful Local Preacher for over 60 years but was now unable to walk. He could only go about if Ruby, his wife, pushed him in a wheelchair. Financially, they could just get by with assistance from State and Local Council. Our Minister and the Communion Steward asked me if LPMA could help. It could - and did... LPMA paid half, the Necessitous Local Preachers' Fund gave a generous donation and our Church paid the balance - to purchase an electric wheelchair for Ray.

So, working together, we have given Ray some independence and I am pleased when I see a new, blue wheelchair in our Church porch. Now, when Ray arrives at Church, on his own, and I go to greet him, I know what's special! LPMA - Helping Hand - that's us!
